The faculty in the Inamori School of Engineering at Alfred University has substantial experience with modeling, processing, and characterizing glass and ceramic materials, including ionic-conducting membranes, electrodes, and glass sealants. The School maintains excellent state-of-the-art facilities, including high-temperature materials testing (x-ray diffraction, electrical measurement, mechanical testing, thermal analysis, and electron microscopy), a pilot-scale facility for making thick-film devices (tape-casting and screen printing operation), extensive ceramic processing facilities.
