Liquid Metal Battery Corporation is an early age storage startup company based in Cambridge, MA. The liquid Metal Battery was invented at MIT in Professor Donald Sadoway's lab, and LMBC was formed in 2010 to commercialize the technology. LMBC's goal is to create a cost-effective, reliable, grid scale battery technology that will facilitate full integration of intermittent renewable generation like wind and solar, relieve grid congestion, reduce the need for power plants, transmission and distribution infrastructure, and thereby reduce the cost of electricity for all.
