BEST Test and Commercialization Center

BEST Logos BEST Test & Commercialization Center (BEST T&CC) helps promote a clean energy society through innovative battery and energy storage technology (BEST). Located at Rochester, New York, it is the result of a collaboration with the New York BEST Consortium. The center’s unique capabilities help bring emerging technologies to the commercial market and offer companies essential product testing and qualification at a reasonable cost. The BEST T&CC brings together over 250 years of combined DNV GL and NY BEST team experience, including electrical testing of T&D equipment, battery and energy storage R&D, consultancy and testing. This allows us to provide unequaled, strictly independent and impartial performance testing in the lab and in the field.

RIT's State-of-the-art Battery Prototyping Center

The Battery Prototyping Center (BPC) at Rochester Institute of Technology focuses on the development of emerging energy storage technologies through a partnership between RIT and NY-BEST Consortium. BPC is made possible by financial support from NYSERDA, Empire State Development, and SoLith. BPC provides prototyping services for more than 125 active members within the NY-BEST consortium and features a 1000 ft2 dry room. The dry room is split into two rooms with one side containing the pouch cell assembly equipment, and the remaining space is available for other moisture sensitive experiments and future expansion. BPC works closely with the NY-BEST Commercialization Center to ensure quality and reproducibility in the performance of the cells.
