The New York Battery and Energy Storage Technology (NY-BEST) Consortium is pleased to present two Pre-Conference Workshops in conjunction with our 10th Annual Capture the Energy Conference & Expo at the Albany Capital Center in Albany, New York.

Please note that this event has been rescheduled from March 31, 2020 to August 4, 2020. All current registrtaions will be carried to the new dates. If you need to discuss cancellation please email info@ny-best.org. If you have made hotel reservations it is your responsibility to cancel them. There will be a new room block with discounted rates available as we get cloer to the new dates.

The Pre-conference workshops are very popular with our conference attendees, so this year we added a second session. The Workshops are designed to provide attendees with in-depth knowledge on some of the unique aspects of deploying energy storage in New York.

The Workshops will take place concurrently on August 4, 2020 from 1:30 PM-5:00 PM on the first level of the Albany Capital Center. Doors will open at 12:30 PM.

Track A: Getting Energy Storage Projects Built in New York: Lessons from the Field

This session will feature a series of experts who will discuss many of the keys to successfully completing energy storage projects in New York State. Topics will include the following: land use and SEQRA, site selection, siting and permitting, building and fire code, business models, accessing NYS storage incentives and interconnection.

Track B:  Understanding NYISO Markets for Energy Storage

This session will feature industry experts who will present on the soon-to-be released NY-BEST NYISO Guidebook for Energy Storage. Topics will span NYISO market rules for Capacity, Energy and Ancillary Services, and Energy Storage market participation, Buyer-Side Mitigation (BSM) tests and interconnection. Workshop participants will receive a copy of the Guidebook.
